PHENYLEX-250 Injection

PHENYLEX-250 Injection contains Phenytoin Sodium 250 mg/5 mL (50 mg/mL) and is an injectable antiepileptic formulation intended for use in clinical and hospital settings. Phenytoin is a hydantoin anticonvulsant that helps control abnormal electrical activity associated with seizures.

Parenteral phenytoin is used in selected clinical situations where rapid or parenteral seizure management is required, including generalized tonic-clonic status epilepticus and the prevention or treatment of seizures associated with neurosurgery. It may also be used as short-term parenteral therapy when oral phenytoin administration is not possible, according to the applicable prescribing information.

PHENYLEX-250 is supplied in a 5 × 5 mL presentation and is positioned within Farlex's Neurology and Critical Care injectable portfolio. The product should be administered by qualified healthcare professionals with appropriate attention to administration rate and patient monitoring, particularly during intravenous administration, because rapid IV administration can cause significant cardiovascular adverse reactions.
