FARPROST-500 Injection

FARPROST-500 Injection contains Carboprost Tromethamine 500 mcg/mL and is a prostaglandin analogue formulated for intramuscular administration in appropriate obstetric and gynaecological clinical settings.

Carboprost promotes uterine contraction and is used in selected obstetric situations where controlled uterine activity is clinically required. Carboprost preparations are used in the management of postpartum haemorrhage associated with uterine atony that has not responded adequately to conventional management, and in selected second-trimester pregnancy termination protocols where approved.

FARPROST-500 is supplied as 5 × 1 mL ampoules and is intended for intramuscular use only, as specified on the product presentation. The product is suitable for institutional, hospital and specialist obstetric-care requirements where carboprost therapy is indicated.

Because carboprost requires appropriate patient selection, dosing and monitoring, its use should remain under qualified medical supervision and according to the approved prescribing information.
