Betsharp Eye Drops – Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% w/v

Betsharp Eye Drops contain Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% w/v, an ophthalmic antihistamine used for the management of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Bepotastine is a topical H1 receptor antagonist with antihistaminic activity. It also inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells, helping control allergic responses affecting the eyes.

What Are Betsharp Eye Drops Used For?

Betsharp Eye Drops are used for the treatment of itching associated with signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.

Allergic conjunctivitis may cause ocular itching, redness, watering, irritation and other discomfort following exposure to allergens. Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% ophthalmic solution has been clinically evaluated for reducing ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Uses of Betsharp Eye Drops

Betsharp Eye Drops may be used for:

• Itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis

• Ocular itching caused by allergic reactions

• Eye discomfort associated with allergic conjunctivitis

• Redness associated with allergic eye allergy

• Watering associated with allergic conjunctival symptoms

• Symptoms associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis

• Symptoms associated with exposure to ocular allergens

Allergic Conjunctivitis

Allergic conjunctivitis occurs when the eyes react to allergens such as pollen, dust and other environmental triggers.

Common symptoms may include eye itching, redness, watering, irritation and swelling. Bepotastine Besilate ophthalmic solution is specifically indicated for the treatment of itching associated with signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.

Clinical studies of Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% ophthalmic solution have demonstrated significant reductions in ocular itching compared with placebo in patients with allergic conjunctivitis. Studies have also evaluated its effects on associated ocular signs including conjunctival redness, tearing and eyelid swelling.

How Does Bepotastine Besilate Work?

Bepotastine is a direct H1 histamine receptor antagonist and an inhibitor of histamine release from mast cells.

Histamine plays an important role in allergic reactions. By blocking H1 receptors and reducing histamine release, Bepotastine helps control the allergic response responsible for ocular itching and related symptoms.

Benefits in Allergic Eye Conditions

Bepotastine Besilate 1.5% ophthalmic solution provides targeted topical antihistamine activity in the eye.

Clinical trials have shown that the formulation can reduce ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis. Research has also reported improvements in certain associated symptoms and signs, including conjunctival hyperemia, tearing and eyelid swelling.

Seasonal Allergic Conjunctivitis

Seasonal allergic conjunctivitis can occur following exposure to seasonal environmental allergens.

A randomized, placebo-controlled clinical study of Bepotastine Besilate ophthalmic solution 1.5% found significant reductions in ocular itching compared with placebo during a natural exposure study.
